On your first visit, Ben Smith will take your details, a complete medical history and information about your current condition. This will help to establish an overall health picture. A comprehensive examination will then be conducted, concentrating on the neuro-muscular system. The examination will incorporate a postural analysis, standard orthopaedic and neurological tests and bio-mechanical assessment of individual joints.
You will then be presented with a report of findings, which will tell you what your problem is, and how we can help you. You will be told about any exercise or changes to your lifestyle or diet that may be beneficial. In most cases you will then be offered treatment immediately, although in some cases when appropriate, x-rays or other tests may be required, and we will make the relevant arrangements.
Here at the Back Room Chiropractic Clinic, we believe that there are three phases to regaining health and fitness
Phase 1 Relief Care
Many people go to a chiropractor because they are in pain. In this first phase of care, our chiropractor’s aim is to reduce your symptoms. Sometimes this will require two or three visits per week for a time.
Most people are under the assumption that if they don’t feel pain there is nothing wrong with them. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a condition has become established.
Phase 2 Corrective Care
On starting chiropractic treatment, many people feel an instant relief; others may experience a temporary soreness around the area being treated. The aim of this phase of treatment is to correct the underlying cause of the condition being treated, as well as relieving pain.
Phase 3 Wellness Care
Once your body has healed, chiropractic care can help ensure that your physical problem does not return. Just like continuing an exercise programme and eating well can reap long term benefits, it is important to continue chiropractic care to ensure the health of your joints and muscles. Our chiropractor Ben Smith expects excellent results with his patient friendly care plan.

Chiropractic is a primary health care profession which specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, and their effects on the nervous system.
Chiropractors use their hands to adjust joints of the spine and other parts of the body where signs of restriction of movement are found. This should improve mobility and relieve pain. Your body’s own healing process (which we recognise in its ability to heal bruises, cuts and broken bones) will then be able to get on with the task of improving your health. The treatment is known as an adjustment or manipulation.
Chiropractic is a natural remedy and does not require the use of drugs or surgery.? If you?re looking for chiropractic treatment in the Birmingham and Solihull areas, the Back Room Chiropractic Clinic can help
